Returning

I re-started playing seriously the last couple of days. Played a couple of tournaments (mostly FTOPs) and little bit of cashgame ($2/4). Actually really enjoyed cash, but I’ve made some calcs what lead me to the decision that I re-start playing SNGs.

Due to the fact, that I will have tons of spendings and costs from now to March I am more or less forced to play SNGs. Sounds weird, but playing cashgame and haveing a hypotetical winrate of 4bb/100, 6-tabling, 6 hours a day and netting ~10k$/month is not enough. At least not for my standart/projects. Than there is the variance thing and the question whether I beat $2/4 with 4bb or not.

Instead I focus on €50-100 SNGs, expecting to play 6 times a week for 6 hours (just 12-tabling). That would net me easily ~15k$/month. That goal is very realistic and very modest, I expect to top that every month. I could potentially 18-24 tabling what nets me more, but I really have no fun doing that (almost hate). Lately I have such a hard time convincing myself to play SNGs anyways, so playing even more tables and playing even more on autopilot would just ruin my plans because I’d be quitting after 4-5 weeks.

At least this way I can try to improve my game a little bit more. I haven’t done anything theoretical besides browsing on 2+2 and little bit of SNG-Wiz in a while. Thats why I like cashgame a lot more. It is way more complex and has so much more improving possibilities. It is fun learning new things and applying them correctly (at least trying). SNGs are boring, all it comes down to is ICM. More than 90% of the ROI comes from ICM, you dont have to play good, just have a rough idea what to push and what to call.

Talking earlier about expenses and costs, at the moment I have just a rough number in my head what I might need. I plan to buy completly new computer with 2 monitors for my flat in Austria, than I very likly need monies for furniture and maintenance, rent, Internet/Phone-line, taxes, insurance ect.

Since end of August I hurt my bankroll a lot and I definitly have/want to recover. Burned something like 50k with life-expenses. I seem to do that every year, not really sure why I keep making the same mistakes?! Anyways, online-cashgame in Italy starts very likly to the end of March and till than I want to have a healthy bankroll to play comfortably the highest stakes (5/10€) NLHE and Omaha. I am confident to achieve that, already made rough plans about when to play/exp. winnings ect.

Not really sure about December thought, I really want to go to Macau for 10-14 days. Planning to shot a $2k and having lots of fun :). Last time I was there I had a girlfriend and 2 years ago I was somewhat youngish. That is like you drive a Porsche and put on the handbreak. Definitly looking forward and super-excited.

That’s about the future, right now I am just excited for the $322 Rebuy FTOPs tonight. Made a deep run couple of days ago and took 48th out of almost 5k entrants in the K.O. FTOPs. Pretty happy I did not win, I mean, who really needs 177k?! That would be way too easy :). The conclude this posting I attached some pictures I took with my cousin about two weeks ago.
